Geraldine Bown and Mary Casey met when Mary relocated from America to the UK and joined Geraldine's organization, the Domino Consultancy. For five years, they worked together jointly pursing their shared passion of advancing women's roles and opportunities in the workplace, and working to ensure that women's advancement issues were seen within the larger context of diversity and inclusion in the UK.
Upon Mary's return to the States, they continued their diversity and inclusion work, and continued applying the principles of respect, inclusion, and appreciating differences in their own lives. Soon they discovered that applying these principles authentically in their own lives requred a deep commitment to self-honesty, and a willingness to let their own internal blocks be unveiled and healed. From this ongoing personal process, they realized that the internal journey is powerful, and that it informs and guides us directly if we are willing to let go of our egos, and learn the language of its landscape.Their first book together, From Diversity to Unity: Creating the Energy of Connection is an exploration and application of this idea in the workplace.
The establishment of the Connemara Centre for Executive Renewal is the next step in their commitment to assisting others in exploring their own inner journey, and discovering the inherent wisdom, strength, and authentic perspective that provides the means for new levels of leadership effectiveness. |
